I had every intention of releasing this small-batch essential oil collection by Valentine’s Day. Something small and thoughtful. Maybe even a little romantic.

But the deeper I dove into Carl Jung’s theory of archetypes, paired with the incredible depth of insight from Ayesha K. Faines, the more I found myself down a rabbit hole I didn’t want to climb out of.

What started as a simple idea quickly became something much more layered… and honestly, something I felt I owed due diligence.
So I slowed down. When I did, this small batch turned into a bigger, more intentional body of work.

Why Archetypes?

Because we are not one fixed version of ourselves. We move through seasons. Sometimes, life gently asks us to become someone new.

Sometimes we’re the Lover—open, magnetic, connected.
Sometimes the Mystic—introspective, inward, searching.
Sometimes the Queen, the Maiden, the Huntress…

These aren’t labels. They’re living energies we move through, often without even realizing it.

The Process

This collection includes fourteen blends. Seven embody feminine archetypes, and the remaining seven embody masculine archetypes. Each blend was formulated slowly and intentionally.

What was involved:

hours of research into archetypal patterns
developing each blend to reflect emotional and energetic states
choosing botanicals and gemstones aligned with each archetype
staying true to Pine & Pear Apothecary’s signature process

Many oils and crystals were brought to the Sedona, AZ vortexes and charged next to the gorgeous, twisted Joshua trees that reach towards the earth’s strong pull of the vortex.

So while these blends feel and smell elevated in quality, they’re also deeply grounded in process.

A Personal Note

I went through a season change while creating this collection. I observed the archetypes I was embodying begin to shift in real time. This awareness made me pause mid-project. I didn’t just identify with the archetypes, I moved through them (or perhaps, they, me). I discovered that during different times of our lives, one may choose an archetype or two on purpose; however, sometimes, they choose us.

I put my trust in the process of growth and allowed my new chapter to unfold. As I turned the page on the Lover and Mother, I said hello to the Huntress and the Queen.

How to Use Pine & Pear Apothecary Blends

There is no “right” way to choose your archetype or archetype essential oil blend.

You can:

wear the one you naturally embody
choose one you’re stepping into
layer and stack blends
follow the quiz
simply follow your nose
or do some or all of the above

Pairings & Magnetism

The pairings in this collection were thoughtfully considered, but they are not an exact science. They’re meant to be explored with an open mind. Stack them. Pair them. Mix them. Wear them. There is always a method to my madness, but I’ve left plenty of room for your intuition, per usual.

*The words ”Masculine” and “Feminine” are only used to help people differentiate lighter smells (such as floral or citrus) from more musky smells (such as woodsy or spicy) and to keep the archetypes within their original categories. That said, my oils have no pronouns and are intended for everyone! Personally, I have always leaned toward earthy smells. Again, there is no right or wrong way to pick out your essential oil blend.

Each Archetype blend comes in a 5ml glass roller bottle. The 7 feminine archetype essential oil blends are infused with botanicals that are both safe and well-paired with the recipe’s oils. The 7 masculine archetype essential oil blends are infused with natural gemstones (amethyst, citrine, carnelian agate, obsidian, rose quartz, and clear quartz crystal), which I took with me when I hiked the Bell Rock vortex last October.
